TRAINING

Once you've committed to taking on the formidable challenge of La Leyenda, you want to make sure both you and your partner are fit enough to finish the race, and also to enjoy the experience. A comprehensive training regime is therefore essential to help you prepare for the seven stages of never ending Andean ascents, so we asked renowned Colombian coach Héctor Pérez to construct a bespoke plan to help guide you. Hector's the current trainer of Jonathan Botero who finished 5th in the MTB XC in the Río Olympics, and has also been coach for MTB team GW-Shimano for the last eight seasons, so he's well experienced in the demands that mountain bike stage races place on the body and how best to overcome them.
