La Leyenda takes places in Colombia in the first week of August. The minimum age of participation is 19 years on 31st December of the year in which the race takes place. La Leyenda’s main objective is to have both professional and amateur mountain bikers from around the world, racing alongside each other in a competitive environment, but at the same time being able to enjoy the best that Colombia has to offer.
Medical and Insurance Requirements
In order for you to fully enjoy the event you will need to have the necessary level of fitness, right from the start of the Prologue. Consequently, racers will only have their entries confirmed once we (the race organisers) receive a signed La Leyenda medical form from a medical doctor, verifying your health status and ability to compete in an endurance race of this nature over 7 days. You must ensure that you are in good health and well trained. This information is vital for us to plan the logistical and medical care for the whole event and all of its participants.
We also require each rider to sign a personal indemnity & liability form before competing and you will also need comprehensive Medical and Health Insurance. Both of these items are compulsory.
The requirements which must be adhered to during the race, appear in the Race Rules in comprehensive detail. All Leyenda racers need to familiarise themselves with the complete set of rules as such part of your race preparation should be to read through the rules attached here:
